The credit card is not encrypted.

Verify that the CCE trigger is enabled:

  1. Open the Credit Card Encryption Registration window by navigating to Tools > Setup > System > Credit Card Encryption > Registration
  2. Click the  Configure/Activate Encryption button
  3. The triggers will be displayed. Triggers that have their checkbox marked have been enabled.

The credit card cannot be decrypted.

Check to see if the DSS key is hosted and/or verify that all DSS services have started:

  1. Log onto the KEK server and navigate to Start > All Programs > Nodus Technologies > Nodus Encryption > the Key Encryption Key Monitor opens.
  2. When the Key Monitor opens, the status should indicate ‘Hosted’
  3. If not hosted, input the two passcodes and click the Host key  
  4. Check the Windows Services Console to verify that all applicable services have started.

How do I set who can use CCE?

In GP, go to Microsoft Dynamics GP > Tools > Setup > Company > Nodus Credit Card Encryption > Credit Card Audit. Then select Permissions > Permissions window. Here you can select which users can use CCE to view credit card information.

  1. Log onto the KEK server and navigate to Start > All Programs > Nodus Technologies > Nodus Encryption > Key Encryption Key Monitor opens.
  2. When the Key Monitor opens, the status should indicate ‘Hosted’
  3. If not hosted, input the two passcodes and click the Host key

A .Net Framework Error : Could not load file or assembly 'Nodus Encryption' when open the eTransaction Entry

Error message : “The first byte of the packed edata does not match” when trying to view the card number

This error occurs shortly after the initial installation. Wait 24 hours for the Key Rotator to automatically re-set the encrypting code from Legacy to Nodus Encryption.

Getting 'EDEK failed to connect' error when processing data

Verify whether the EDEK SQL server has Nodus Framework installed. If not:

  1. Re-install Framework on the SQL server
  2. Start services
  3. Edit configuration files. Use the configuration utility located at Start > Programs > Nodus Technologies > Credit Card Encryption > CCE Configuration Utility

    1. Choose a SQL server from the droplist
    2. Select a connection string but clicking the button next to the Connection String textbox
    3. Click the Update from Nodus Encryption Client button to populate the Key Server, DEK Server and AuditLog Server textboxes. NOTE: If the values for the servers need to be edited, use the Nodus Encryption wizard to make the changes. When finished, return to the CCE Configuration window and click the Update button
    4. Test to see if data is processing and error message does not return

Do new keys need to be entered after 365 days?

The keys will automatically renew after 365 days as they are re-generated by the system.

How can general users be allowed to view credit card numbers?

To setup other users to view credit card numbers:

  1. Navigate to Tools > Setup > Company > Nodus Credit Card Encryption > Credit Card Audit.
  2. From the CC audit window, click Permission > Open permission Here, you can setup general users to view card numbers.
